4 soldiers were injured when an explosion exploded during the shooting.
Talihina, OK – 4 soldiers were wounded in an explosion, a soldier was shot dead and a suspect died after an explosion during a shooting on Friday morning.
KFSM reported that Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and Talihina Police were serving a warrant at a downtown building when they became implicated in a gun battle at about 6 a.m. on May 11.
During the shooting, the building exploded and nearby buildings caught on fire.
KFSM reported that 4 soldiers were injured in the incident.
The suspect is dead, but it is unclear whether he was shot or caught in the blast.
The soldiers were not identified and the extent of their injuries was unknown at the moment.
Laura Simon with five News reported that a fifth soldier was shot in his vest, and the ballistic jacket saved his life.
A fifth trooper was shot in his tactical vest. OHP says it likely saved his life.
Police say the two historic buildings that caught fire are totaled.

A witness who owns a business across the street in Talihina told 40/29 he heard gunshots outside. He saw law enforcement and saw the building go up in flames.
